Sugar Loaf, Arkansas, 1890. Young Olivia Marston has been released from the abusive husband forced upon her by her father, but struggles against the pain she carries inside. Alone and destitute, she moves to Arkansas to live with her grandmother. There, she accepts a job caring for the daughter of a young widower named Jed Bailey. Soon she finds herself falling for her employer. Vivian Wrathers also has her sights set on Jed and will stop at nothing until she gets him. When Vivian disappears, Olivia's employer is the prime suspect. To further complicate matters, Olivia discovers she is carrying her deceased husband's child; suddenly her past is intruding into her future again. When her estranged father reappears in her life, she struggles to find the grace to forgive him, and the courage to face her destiny. About the author Bethany Largent is a former elementary teacher who resides in Benton, Kentucky with her husband of fifteen years, Chuck, their two sons, and her little black Chihuahua, Moe. Bethany has always considered herself somewhat of a dreamer, and to be able to put her stories into words is a dream come true. She enjoys fishing, reading, and writing. It is her sincere hope to encourage and point others to Christ through her work.

A Heart for Grace Bethany Largent 9781936578603 Books

The good is the storyline, the well-developed characters, and the good clean Old West romance, with a great cast of secondary characters and the ubiquitious selfish vixen. The bad - not much; the sexual violence which underscores the storyline is described at a minimum, just enough to explain the emotional trauma of the victims, but might be upsetting to some younger readers. The ugly is the actual text: the font(s) and the sizes of the fonts switch around like a cat's tail on nearly every page! Some chapters consist of only 2 or 3 pages but content wise, anything after the first page may be only 1 or 2 sentences, followed by a similar minimal page, and nearly every end-of-chapter page is followed by an otherwise blank page showing only a page number! Extremely distracting, to say the least. This author deserves a better copywriter/typist/text editor/whatever than she currently employs. I would definitely read another by her, but would first want a "peek inside" to see if this issue has been addressed.

A Heart for Grace Bethany Largent 9781936578603 Books Reviews

Even though A Heart For Grace was rather predictable to me I enjoyed this book. I enjoy Christian books. I especially liked Olivia and Jed and the relationship that developed so suddenly. I can't say anything else or I might give too much away. Yes, it is a good book to sit and relax with.
I enjoyed the book and the writers style,I read it in one setting and it kept my interest, the storyline was of good christian values
,You need to read this book. It will keep you guessing what will happen next. A lot of action, twists and turns. The ending left you hanging what will happen next. There were many sensitive subjects discussed in this book. A book you don't want to put down. I definitely will read more books by this author!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book! It is not only a good read because it is a good "story", but also because it weaves
the love of Christ, salvation, and living by Christian principles throughout the boo! I read it basically in one sitting because
I became so involved in the story!!!

Well worth the read -- whether you buy it on your , or purchase the book!.
It handled a very difficult situation of life without being too graphic. It taught some life lessons of forgiveness and a life changed by God. A truly Christian book! One small thing I don't care for books that get descriptive of passion that is better left unsaid.
A real-like story of sinning, heartache and forgiveness through Christ. All included about the story of a young woman and no matter how terrible is was, she survived and learned to love as well as forgive.
This novel has a lot going on and keeps you reading it.
There is a killing but no details. Just as there are two rapes there are no details - therefore I would consider this novel Clean but also not that unusual in the mid to late 1800s.
As one reviewer stated The Good, the Bad & the Ugly are all in this novel.
In 1890 in Sugar Loaf, Arkansas, Olivia as a young girl was forced by her father to marry an abusive husband. In the beginning I had a hard time getting into the story as I read more of the the story it became more interesting.

Olivia was free from her husband after several years of marriage. She begins her life over as she goes to her grandmother's house. There she finds God's healing and grace. This is a story of tragedy and forgiveness. A Love story of misunderstanding and hardships that end nicely.

There were plenty of twists and turns that kept me interested. The novel was beautifully written although some of the tragedies were rough to read through. This is a remarkable, Christian, inspirational fiction book. I would only recommend this book to adults due to the subject matter. I did enjoy the read.
